What a great Inaugural
Homestead A.C.M.A. / Harvey Norman Morayfield Junior Talent Expo 2007.
Congratulations to all the
Juniors who performed on the day. Every one of them performed to the best of
their ability and the standard was high so the winners can be proud of their
achievements.
Our theme is "Reaching for the
Stars" and we surely will see future Stars come from the performers we were
privileged to be entertained by.
From the feedback I have received, the Contestants all had fun and are eagerly
looking forward to coming back next year.
My sincere thanks to all of the
following people ...
Our own Homestead Band Members (
all of you ) who played for most of the day with only a short lunch break.
Thanks also to all other visiting backing artists throughout the day. The
backing was excellent and very much appreciated by the contestants.
( The Homestead Band's feature performance left the audience screaming for
more and deservedly so !!!! ). Next year this spot will be filled by our
Overall winner - Kimberley Thompson. ( What a talented and dynamic performer
).
Our Sound Engineer Peter Smith
who made sure the contestants could be heard at their best.
The Stage hands who kept the
continuity of the programme running smoothly.
Debbie Jensen who ran the back
stage like clockwork.
The Ladies who ran the door, Pam
Matthews & Bonnie Palmer.
The wonderful Queenie Lodge for
taking the time to run our Youth Talent Expo raffles on the day and for the
past few months.
( And she is not even a Homestead Member - How good is that !!!! )
John Boetje & Fiona Cole who had
the huge responsibility of making sure the scores were tallied correctly, that
the certificates were printed and that we had the correct winners at the end
of the day.
All the Homestead Volunteer crew
who came in on Friday morning (to set up), worked late into the evening,
around 1am. on Saturday and also returned on Sunday morning (to clear
everything away) with not a murmur of a complaint from any one of them.
( THIS IS WHAT VOLUNTEERING IS ALL ABOUT ). ( Well done - great teamwork )
To Heather Fraser for overseeing
the tasks that needed to be done on the day and making my job a lot easier. (
Very much appreciated )
To a very professional team of
Comperes, Darryn Robinson, Barbara Hall, Bob Cole and Tracy Robinson, who are
a credit to Homestead.
To our Judges who gave their time
willingly,
Trevor Johnson, Hugo Fitz-Herbert, Paul Wilson, Gina Sterling, Rhonda Hopkins
and Cheryl-Lee Garnett.
Thank you all for the high praise you have extended to Homestead on the
running of our Festival. They are especially appreciated words considering the
amount of years you all have behind you in experience.
To Beachmere Lions Club who
provided the catering. The food was plentiful, fresh and delicious. ( A job
well done ).
To Leisa Bye our official
Photographer who spent the whole day taking great shots of the contestants.
High praise to the Youth Talent
Expo Committee for 2007.
This wonderful group of people worked tirelessly to bring the day together and
thanks to their efforts it was highly successful. The small memento that they
received is nowhere near enough, but I hope it will forever remind them of our
first Homestead Youth Talent Expo.
My grateful thanks to ... Peter Bigg, Homestead President, Bob Cole,
Secretary, Frank Moroney, Treasurer, Tracy Robinson, Media Advertising, John
Boetje, Computer Guru, and Norm Smith, Committee Member.
Special thanks to Tracy Robinson
who took on the role of Coordinator's assistant for the day. She is worth her
weight in gold and her efforts are sincerely appreciated.
To our MAJOR SPONSORS, Harvey
Norman, Morayfield ... Electrical, Computers, Bedding and Furniture
Franchisees
I offer our sincere appreciation and hope to have you on board again next
year.
Finally I would like to thank all
our other Sponsors, many of whom have already assured me they will definitely
be there again next year. Please support them whenever you can.
